Rocket Mouse, is a growing technical company in the small business IT support / concierge realm. Our company supports various service-orientated industries around the Houston Metropolitan area. The Rocket Mouse Information Technology Intern role is meant to aid with tier-1 hardware and software issues, hardware configuration and setup, account management, and inventory administration. During this time the intern will glean unique industry knowledge that pertains to their course of study.

Qualifications
  • Recover and backup workstation data utilizing various methods and tools
  • Configure and setup new workstations and related peripheral devices
  • Retrieve unused workstations and related peripheral devices
  • User account management within Active Directory and Exchange
  • Facilitate the replacement of out of warranty workstations and related peripheral devices
  • Inventory administration utilizing Inventory Management & Asset Tracking System
  • Assist with companywide audit of all information technology hardware
  • Maintain and track all loaner hardware
  • Organize inventory rooms by assembling shelving and relocating hardware
  • Aid with data deletion and disposal of retired hardware
Prefered Skills

Knowledge of the basic operations and concepts involved with workstation hardware components, operating systems, and software

Ability to explain technical concepts to technical or non-technical personnel

Ability to troubleshoot tier-1 hardware issues on both desktop and laptop system

Experience with setup, configuration, imaging and troubleshooting of desktop / notebook hardware and software

Experience with Windows 7/10 desktops and notebooks in a networked environment

Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, instant message or in person

Ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and customers

Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems

Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion

Maintain related experience, knowledge and training
